"Love this place! The space is fantastic and the coffee is good! Really appreciate all of the natural light, as well as being open till the later afternoon! Also, loved the volume of the music! I could hear it the whole time, but I also brought in my sleeping 8 month old and he did not even stir! That is the space, as far as the coffee goes I really appreciated the mugs "for here", the Mahlkonig grinder, and the Synesso espresso machine! They are staying Tru to the specialty coffee scene! Keep it up!"

"I absolutely loved my experience at Kindred Coffee. Everything about this place felt right from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and full of great vibes — it’s the kind of place where you actually want to slow down and enjoy your time. The food was incredible, especially the vegan options, which were thoughtfully made and full of flavor. You can tell there’s a lot of care behind what they do. This is easily one of those spots that makes you want to come back again and again."

"Kindred is my favorite coffee shop in the Iowa City area, coming from someone who is very serious about the art of coffee brewing. They source very high quality beans and put quite a bit of effort into the brewing process. Given the high quality nature of their coffee, I also find them to be affordable. Where else can you get a high-quality pour over for 4.50? When I get coffee outside of my home, this is by far my favorite place in the Iowa City area."

"SUCH an oasis. Excellent specialty coffee and wonderful gluten free cafe food. While visiting Iowa City for a couple weeks (from San Francisco) this became my usual spot. As a trans-woman, I wasn’t sure where in the area I would be comfortable but all the folx here were absolute sweethearts. Seems like a hub for community too, I know I’d be checking their events board on the regular if I lived here. Check it out."

Really tasty and creative homemade seasonal drinks AND great brew coffee makes this place so special and worthwhile.
